Ukrainian drones smash £4.97m Russian missile launcher | World | News

Ukraine hit during a drone attack launched on September 10 a Russian TOS 1-A Solntsepyok as it prepared to launch, while the battle for the town of Chasiv Yar rages on.

Chasiv Yar, in the imperilled region of Donetsk, has seen heavy fighting in recent months as Ukraine struggles to hold back the Russian advance despite its success in the Russian Kursk region.

The Telegram footage, which has not been independently verified, saw FPV drones strike the Russian multiple rocket launcher system (MRLS), which according to some reports cost around £4.97m, as it prepared to launch thermobaric missiles.

The video showed several drones hit the weapon system which lay motionless with smoke billowing in the aftermath.

Ukrainian aerial intelligence officers told Kyiv Post that, “at least four drones were used to target and immobilise the flamethrower system, a common tactic that is used to ensure a ‘kill’.”
